Academy of Nevada Ballet Theatre offers programs for all ages during the summer, including a rigorous Summer Intensive program as well as a Children’s Intensive for younger students.
ANBT’s Summer Intensive provides the highest level of training taught by an impressive roster of acclaimed dance instructors and industry professionals. Students enrolled in the Summer Intensive may be selected to join NBT as a Trainee or Apprentice for the 2020-21 Season.

Senior Summer Intensive
June 15 – 27, 2020
Monday – Saturday, 9am – 4pm
for Trainees age 15+, Int/Adv Ballet Students*, and ANBT students currently in Ballet B1-C2
Students may enroll in one or both weeks.
Junior Summer Intensive
June 1 – 12, 2020
Monday – Friday, 9am – 4pm (full day or half day options)
for ages 8 and up* and ANBT students currently in Pre-Ballet 3 through Ballet A3
Students may enroll in one or both weeks
Students who register by Saturday, May 9 will receive a free ANBT Summer Intensive t-shirt.
*Non-Academy students must audition to be accepted into the program.
Intermediate/Advanced: Ballet, Pointe, Variations, Modern, and Contemporary.
Beginning: Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, Stretch & Conditioning, Modern, Jumps & Turns, Improv, and Hip-Hop
Pre: Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, Stretch & Conditioning, and Hip-Hop
Current ANBT students are not required to audition to be accepted into the Summer Intensive program.
Non-Academy students who live in the Las Vegas area may call ANBT to schedule a placement/audition class by February 15, 2020. After that date, Non-Academy students must submit their audition materials as described below:
Audition Requirements (by mail or email)
A photo in first arabesque
Submit a video by email or DVD that includes the following:
• Performed in leotard & tights for women and tight-fitting dance attire for men and submitted with no introductions or fancy editing
• 3 – 5 minutes of barre work (including plies, tendus, rond de jambe, adagio, and grand battement) incorporating both sides, danced in soft shoes by male applicants and pointe shoes by female applicants, if applicable.
• 3 – 5 minutes of centre work (including adagio, pirouettes, petit and grand allegro), danced in pointe shoes by female applicants, if applicable.

For dancers age 3-7, students in the Children’s Intensive learn ballet movement and technique, the ballet’s story and its characters, as well as mime and music exploration. Each week culminates in a performance for parents and friends, when the story ballet comes alive through the children’s own creativity and all they have learned! Dress code and what to bring
Girls – Pink leotard, pink ballet slippers, and pink socks, with hair neatly tied up (No skirts or extra accessories.)
Boys – White tank leotard and black bike shorts, white socks, black ballet slippers.
All students must bring bottled water and a snack each day.
Drop-off and Pick-up
Children must be escorted into the building for drop-off, and they must be picked up in the lobby. No child will be allowed to exit the building unless accompanied by a parent/guardian.
