tap, lyrical, modern and hip-hop. Having studied at some of the most prestigious dance institutions in the
country, including the School of American Ballet, Terané’s professional experience extends to
New York City, Atlantic City and
Terané has been instrumental in the expansion of Nevada Ballet Theatre’s (NBT) outreach offerings, including special student matinees at the Mystère Theatre (for the annual NBT and Cirque du Soleil collaboration) and NBT main stage performances at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts, generally attended by over 1,000 students. As a result of her leadership and advocacy, the Dance Discovery program is enjoying its highest enrollment numbers to date and NBT now hosts over 100 Dance Discovery and Future Dance Scholars who train at its affiliated Academy.
Under Terané’s leadership, the Future Dance program produced its first three graduates with one student receiving acceptance as a trainee with NBT’s professional company. “It was an honor to mentor these young dancers and guide them through the program full-circle,” said Terané. “This has not only been a goal of the program, but also a personal dream.”
Terané has facilitated successful partnerships that include working with the Las Vegas Academy, where the annual Future Dance Spring Concert has been performed. In addition, she has strengthened the program’s presence in the Las Vegas community through special appearances and performances at the annual KLUC Toy Drive as well as NBT’s annual fundraiser, The Black & White Ball - consistently demonstrating the need for dance education and reinforcing the fact that movement and self-expression, through the art form of dance, will positively impact a child’s life path forever.
Terané holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Las Vegas, Nevada. She is a proud member of the leadership team for The Kennedy Center’s “Any Given Child” initiative, which provides children in K – 8th grade equal and equitable access to the arts.
