Executive Director & CEO
Beth Barbre joined Nevada Ballet Theatre in 2006 and is Executive Director and CEO of the 42-year-old organization. Beth's efforts to strengthen the company have helped pave the way for NBT's May 5, 2012 debut performance as a Resident Company of The Smith Center for the Performing Arts.
Under Beth's leadership, NBT has eliminated its accumulated deficit and now operates with an annual balanced budget. She has overseen the selection of a new Artistic Director, Academy Principal and Artistic Coach who have lifted the quality of the company's performances and training regimen. In 2009, Beth negotiated an agreement with Caesars Entertainment to move the company's Nutcracker production to Paris Las Vegas, where revenues more than doubled over the past three years.
Collaborating with Cirque de Soleil, Beth launched A Choreographers' Showcase, a unique joint performance of NBT and Cirque artists. For the fall 2012 season, she has arranged a first-ever collaboration between three ballet companies to dance George Balanchine's famed ballet, Jewels.
Beth was previously Managing Director of Oregon Ballet Theatre, where she led the campaign for OBT's first permanent home. She served five years as Administrator of The George Balanchine Trust in New York City, licensing the works of the 20th Century's greatest choreographer, and five years as Company Manager of the New York City Ballet, America's pre-eminent dance company.
Beth earned her B.A. from the University of the South and her M.A. degree in Performing Arts Administration from New York University.
