With more than a dozen performances at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts, NBT’s The Nutcracker is attended by over 25,000 art lovers, dance enthusiasts and holiday spirited families each year. In addition to The Nutcracker, NBT will present three major ballet productions this season at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts: Swan Lake, Bolero, and Coppélia.

Swan Lake is the most iconic love story in all of ballet. Set to Tchaikovsky’s timeless score, it is a sumptuous and wondrous production, a must-see for ballet aficionados and newcomers alike. Swan Lake will undoubtedly be one of the cultural events of the fall in Las Vegas.

Bolero, set to the iconic Ravel score, is filled with pulsating movement and scintillating emotion. As part of NBT’s mid-winter repertory program, Bolero will be presented along with two other engaging ballets, George Balanchine’s The Four Temperaments and a World Premiere ballet by NBT Company Artist Krista Baker.

Coppélia is a joyous, family-friendly feast for the eyes, a delightful full-length ballet telling the story of a mischievous girl who is in love with a naïve boy and the misadventures that ensue when they encounter a mysterious doll maker’s creation. Coppélia is a large scale treat, and the perfect way to delight families of all ages prior to the start of summer.

NBT’s annual Black & White Ball will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Caesars Palace, honoring NBT’s Woman of the Year, Shania Twain. The Black & White Ball is one of Las Vegas’ most highly anticipated and glamorous social events of the year.

ANBT is the official school of Nevada Ballet Theatre, and the premier ballet and dance training center of Southern Nevada.

Founded in 1979, the Academy is guided by a commitment to excellence, offering training in many forms of dance with classes for students 18 months of age through adult. It is housed in a 36,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility, offering the highest standard of artistic education taught by distinguished and world-renowned instructors.

Dance education is an ongoing process that continues throughout a dancer’s career. Even students whose lives lead to non-dance careers garner the invaluable skills of discipline, dedication, poise and a life-long appreciation for the arts by attending class at ANBT.

NBT’s Education & Outreach programs impact the lives of over 20,000 students annually by making the arts an integral part of who they are and what they do.

NBT’s signature Education & Outreach program is GO-MOVE-DANCE!!!  Launched in 1993, the program has offered free in-school dance instruction to youth from at-risk communities, as well as Future Dance scholarships to attend the Academy of Nevada Ballet Theatre.

Other Education & Outreach activities enable children from across the Las Vegas valley to experience free student matinee performances of NBT’s professional company productions, attend Kids Night Out at the Ballet, and enjoy in-school performances of productions like the delightful, Gwendolyn, the Graceful Pig.
