A Message from NBT’s Beth Barbre and Roy Kaiser
Dear Friends of NBT,
Recently it was announced that The Smith Center for the Performing Arts, where NBT is the Resident Ballet Company, will remain closed by government mandate through the end of 2020. On behalf of everyone at NBT, we are deeply disappointed that this will affect our annual production of The Nutcracker, the most beloved way we engage with the entire Las Vegas community each holiday season. After 39 years of presenting this holiday classic for almost 20,000 patrons annually, it is heartbreaking that we will not be performing for local audiences this December. Accounting for over 65% of our ticket sales revenue, the impact of losing The Nutcracker is significant and further compounds an expected organizational shortfall of over $2.6 million due to the suspension of productions, events and classes since March. That is why your support matters. Today we invite you to Dance On With NBT by making a tax-deductible donation of any size to ensure our journey back to the stage. Giving is simple through this site by visiting our DONATE TODAY page.
Since our first performance almost 50 years ago, NBT has paved the way for the strong cultural community we as Las Vegans now enjoy, thanks to decades of support from dedicated donors and a committed Board of Trustees. And even through this is a truly unexpected intermission, we are committed to keeping the magic of the holidays alive with exciting new partnerships and virtual opportunities until we can be together again.
With community support, we know we will return stronger from this experience and emerge with a renewed sense of passion and devotion to our mission of impacting lives across the valley and beyond. We thank you for Dancing On with us!
Best wishes,
Beth Barbre, Executive Director & CEO
Roy Kaiser, Artistic Director
